Hi Everyone! A friend of mine is selling his very awesome mutant art motorcycle. It has three organ pipes that use propane puffers and is very mad max looking. It's a great vehicle that fits up to three people. It was at Burning Man in 08 at the corner of D and 9.
It's currently listed on Ebay as item 290290242087. There is a slide show and at the end of this listing are two youtube links to see video of it at day and nite, you'll need to cut and paste the addresses. Starting bid is at $2500.00.
This is the info from his auction and contact info:
Welcome to my auction for one of the most "one of a kind' vehicles ever to grace the pages of Ebay.
Wow, where to start.....this is a hand made 3 wheeled vehicle I made for Burning Man 2008. It uses a 1980 Yamaha Maxim 650 motorcycle with other various parts from a quad and sandrails. The motorcycle runs great. I had the carburetors rebuilt, the oil changed and a new battery installed. It clutches on the left control lever as seen in the photos. This lever also shifts the car, motorcycle, or 3 wheeler, whatever you prefer to call it. It has a fan located behind the drivers seat that can blow in either direction. Back to push air over the motor or forward to heat the driver on cold playa nights. It also has El wire installed on the front "cow catcher" and also on the time machine rings. The vehicle has the capacity to have three people onboard. One driver and two passengers on the motorcycle part. It also has amazing flame throwers as seen in the Utube video. There are 3 "pipes" as part of the flame throwers, 2 with a 3/8 valve and one with a 1 1/2" valve. The solenoid valves that release the propane work on 12 volts and run off the motorcycle battery. They throw Awsome fire and can be controlled by the regulator valve. This valve is Excluded from the auction as well as the two tanks of propane. I am using the regulator on another project, but this item can be bought easily. I will show the new buyer exactly how to do it. It is not difficult. There is also an "expansion tank" affixed to the underside of the car. This lets the propane accumulate before releasing it to the pilot lights on the flame throwers. There is a dual braking system on the car. The handle on the right side works the front disc brakes and the pedal on the floor works the rear motorcycle drum brake. The front brakes uses all stainless steel hoses. The steering wheel is removable with a quick release button, similar to ones used on race cars and sand rails. The two headlights are Not included in this auction as I "borrowed" them from my sand rail. The wiring will remain as well as the switch.
I have 9 months of part time work in this project. That translates to hundreds of hours of work. All the fenders are hand made as well as the rest of the car. This was really a labor of love and a tremendous amount of work.
I am INCLUDING the trailer with this sale. It is probably worth 700-800 dollars by itself. It is registered as a home made trailer in NV. I will include the title w/ the sale. The trailer was custom made for the car, tows like a dream, and has an area in front for two propane tanks.
In summation if you are looking for a one of a kind vehicle, have a bit of mechanical skill or just like to tinker with things, this may be the toy for you. The opening bid would not ever cover the cost of the parts I used to build this vehicle, never mind the hundreds of hours of labor.
I am only selling this to make room for my next project. I have a title for the motorcycle and the trailer but I am NOT telling you that this can be registered or driven on the streets of you hometown. Please understand this is a "one of a kind" homemade vehicle. Good luck. If you have questions email or call at 702-338-0807 Bill
Please check these two Utube clips. You will have to cut and paste them as I cannot directly link them. Not much of a computer guy. :}
