Didn't know what to expect.
I'm open to alot of food choices. But when the Mexican Food Restaurant on the corner of Cambridge and E. Flamingo in Vegas shut down, the first thing I thought was how nice if somebody put a nice coffee house there. Well that didn't happen, and months went by with nothing there. Until about a month ago when they posted a Mongolian BBQ was to be put there. Now, I've never had true Mongolian BBQ before. I naturally assumed it was something like Dim Sum or Chinese Buffet. Which, we have a couple in the neighborhood already. So I was even more bummed that we didn't get a coffee house in the neighborhood.

Nonetheless, my partner and I decided to just stop by before a night out. We were greeted with friendly smiles from the host, the cook, and even (I assume) the owner. He sits us at a table and explains the process to us. Basically, it's like a buffet style meal. In the sense that you grab a bowl and load it up with the items you want. These are not pre-cooked but actually raw foods placed in cool baskets. You make a combination of whatever you like. Then you put the sauces for the food to be cooked with. They insisted on the signature Mongolian BBQ sauce so I tried that with some olive oil and curry sauce (I love curry). When it's all together, the cook puts it all on a hot stone (actual heat stone cooked!) and cooks it up to your perfection. They add some sticky rice to your plate and you're on your way.

Now again, I have to tell you that I didn't know what to expect. To me it looked like more Chinese food. But when I tasted it, it was amazing! The veggies we're fresh. The meats were seasoned by me just right. It was a pleasant culinary experience to my palette. I'm told that everything is organic and natural. Other than the flavor sauces you put on your food, it completely natural and healthy for you. But if you're the type who experiments and doesn't like your own creation, there's good news. You're welcome to retry the effort as much as like during dinner (lunch is a one-trip deal). Drinks were the standard $1.25 with refills and they didn't scowl when I opted for water.

Overall, the meal was excellent and flavorful. The service was amazing. Plates cost $7.95 for lunch and $10.95 for dinner (all-you-can-eat) you get the meal, a bowl of egg-drop soup, sesame bread, and won tons. The only negative that I saw was there was no protein substitute for you veggies out there. Plenty of fresh vegetables (which include sprouts and beans), but no tofu or other meat substitute.
