This movie was funnier and better done than I would have thought possible. After growing up with Peter Seller's version of the character and situations, I had a precomnception that Steve Martin could not deliver something as funny. Certain comedy situations are only funny the first time you see them, at least that has proven to be the case for me. So I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Mr. Martin's performance in "The Pink Panther". I won't go so far as to speculate on whether direction or editing improved the final product, but I thought most of this money was great! Sure, there are one or two scenes where things aren't as funny as I'm sure the director hoped, but nobody's perfect. - - Go see it! Have fun! - Dennis , posted 02/28/06 |
